The model farms of a colonial empire stretched out near Barca. Although the verso of this photograph indicates the date as being "November 1943", Arthur Howe, Jr. was already in Italy by that time. It's possible a friend sent Arthur Howe, Jr. the photograph from North Africa, though also possible the year was also written incorrectly.
