While Dr. Saleman was holding his clinic in the Menzoul (the Sheikh’s Guest Room), I walked up the Tel (Tel means Hill) and took this picture. Here, you can see that many of the conical mud houses have collapsed in the rain; but they have just built new ones. Many such small villages have a Tel (hill) like this nearby. It is thought to be a good place for archaeological digging; but I never saw any digs in Syria during the war.
