Title:
Bedouin Emir in Goat Hair Tent
Date:
1943 January
Description:

He knew the value of vaccination because he had seen how it could protect his people against Smallpox during a recent epidemic. Note the loose weave of the goat hair tent behind the Emir; it allows light and air to filter through; but it keeps out most of the wind and rain. It is remarkably cool in the hot sun.

Location: Syrian-Iraqi Desert.
