Kinter's margin notes: "While on the way to Meiktila from Pagan with 5 Div. Harry Humphreys borrowed my camera (Kodak 35 with f4.5 lens) for the day.  Before he got back I was sent out with the 4th Field [Artillery] Regiment.  My first [night] with them at Taungtha they put over a 1000 shells.  I always regretted not having my camera as they were the best outfit I was with.  They fired the first shot in the Battle of Waterloo & had a whole battery wiped out except for 2 men in the Desert.  Friends there included: Gunner Bill Baker, Sgt. Trigg, Sgt. Maj. “Jungle” O’Brien, Capt. Evans M.O., & Col. Crow.  I also missed pictures of the heavy fighting around Meiktila since I didn’t meet Harry & get my camera back until 3 weeks later when I was with 5C Anti-Tank Reg., 5 Div. near Tackton [sic].  It was while with them that I got separated from my ambulance when it was sent down the track to Pyinmana with 10 Field Ambulance 9 Brig.  Then I went to 75 Field Ambulance.  Next to the J&K’s [4th Jammu & Kashmir Infantry] still of 5 Div on May 8th."
