Kinter's margin notes: "Patrol with 99 Bailys Guerillas [sic  99th Indian Infantry Brigade?], Capt. John Mott C.O., east of Pinlaung the last week in Aug. 1945 to try & get 400 armed Japs who were terrorising [sic] locals to surrendur [sic] now that war is supposed to be over – we were always just 1 day behind them – 136 Force (O.S.S.  Office of Strategic Services) at Loikaw killed many of them when the [sic] came thru in boats on the river."
