Bird hunting party in Syria (Pasha Ariens and Jack Hill-Skinner)
Date:
April 1942
Description:
In April 1942, Arthur Howe, Jr. and others rescued a local child who was injured by a military vehicle and took her to a Syrian doctor. The child's parents, as a sign of gratitude, invited Arthur Howe, Jr., the Syrian doctor and Jack Hill-Skinner (a fellow from New Zealand) to go on a bird hunting trip on the mountains above Zahleh.  The day after the bird hunting trip, Arthur Howe, Jr. went to Palestine.
